TMW Raahe celebrated its official opening – a celebration of Finnish expertise and responsible wood.

On September 18, 2025, TMW Raahe held its official opening ceremony in Raahe. Our thermally modified wood production facility brings together decades of development work and Finnish know-how. We provide customers worldwide with high-quality, durable, and environmentally friendly wood products.

The opening day gathered customers, friends, partners, and industry representatives. Highlights of the celebration included speeches by Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Sari Essayah and Pasi Pitkänen, Development Director at Raahe Regional Development

In her opening address, Minister Essayah emphasized the importance of the Finnish bioeconomy:
“High value-added wood products bind carbon while creating vitality and jobs in Finland. A forest-based bioeconomy is one of Finland’s key strengths for succeeding and maintaining competitiveness. Wood as a raw material can replace fossil-based materials and reduce critical dependencies – and that is why investments in the wood products industry are of vital importance.”

A sustainable future

The TMW Raahe plant is built on the principles of sustainable production. The products are manufactured entirely from Finnish wood, using only heat and steam—completely without chemical additives. This creates natural, recyclable wood products that endure both time and weather.

At the same time, the factory strengthens regional vitality by creating jobs and promoting sustainable economic growth in Finland.

Thanks to the community and partners

TMW Raahe extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in the official opening, and especially to the speakers. The event was a significant milestone for the company and the entire region—marking the beginning of a journey to deliver globally high-quality, responsible solutions that respect the values of Finnish forests.
