Two weeks of training have now been completed at the Raahe thermally modified wood processing plant and we are extremely pleased with how well our new employees have progressed. This training has been a crucial phase in their onboarding and preparation for their upcoming roles in thermal wood production. The training will continue until early October, providing us with the opportunity to ensure that each new team member is fully prepared and qualified for their tasks in wood processing and the use of thermal modification methods when they transition into their official roles.
The initial weeks of training at our thermal wood processing plant have been intensive but rewarding. Our new employees have embraced the challenges with open minds and a commitment to learning. They have already completed several critical training modules, including first aid, occupational safety certification and thermal wood safety training. These modules are essential for creating and maintaining a safe working environment. It has been gratifying to see how seriously the new team members have taken this responsibility.
In the upcoming phases of training, we will focus on deepening knowledge in various aspects of the thermal wood manufacturing process, such as understanding the properties of thermally modified wood and working with it. Additionally, we will cover the logistics, storage, and use of thermal wood as a building material, which is crucial for the smooth operation of our plant. We have also planned site visits to other factories to give our employees a comprehensive view of the entire wood product industry chain and to apply best practices in their own work.
One of the highlights of the training has been practicing operating wheel loaders. This is a key skill for many of our new employees and their progress in this area has been impressive. According to our trainers, many participants have achieved significant confidence and precision in their operations, which bodes well for the future operations of our plant.
Although we have made significant progress, the training is not yet complete. The training period continuing until early October provides ample time to deepen skills and develop the specialized abilities each employee needs for their tasks in thermal wood production. In the coming weeks, we will focus particularly on a deeper understanding of processes and equipment, as well as strengthening teamwork and communication skills. We will enhance expertise specifically in the use of thermal wood production equipment and kilns. This training ensures that employees can operate the equipment safely and efficiently, which is crucial for the functioning of the thermal wood processing plant.
Future training will also include comprehensive instruction on quality control of thermal wood. Employees will learn to identify high-quality thermally modified wood products and address potential issues promptly, helping to maintain a high level of production quality. Additionally, we will thoroughly familiarize employees with thermal wood products and their various applications, so they understand the production process as a whole and its importance to our customers.
Training will also focus on working with steam, steam boilers and propane, which is essential for ensuring the safe and smooth operation of our plant.
Logistics at the plant is another important area of training where employees will learn to manage the flow of production and storage. Inventory management is a key part of production efficiency, and the training will equip employees to manage inventory accurately and systematically. Forklift training is a crucial component of onboarding, ensuring that employees can handle materials and thermal wood products safely and efficiently at our plant.
Additionally, we will provide IT training to ensure that all employees are proficient in using the necessary systems smoothly.
Employees will also have opportunities to visit other plants, providing them with valuable insights into industry practices and strengthening their understanding of our thermal wood processing plant’s operations within the broader context.
This onboarding period is extremely important to us, as we want to ensure that each new team member feels confident and capable as they transition to working independently. We strongly believe that a well-planned and executed training period will lay the foundation for our plant’s success and safe operation in the long term within the thermal wood production sector.
We are proud of our new team members and their achievements so far. They have brought fresh energy and enthusiasm that has also inspired other team members. We look forward to their full integration into our plant’s operations and believe that their contributions will be a significant part of our success in the future.
We have also planned hands-on workshops where new employees can test their skills in real work situations. This practical training gives them the opportunity to apply what they have learned and develop their confidence, which is essential for the smooth execution of their tasks. It has been wonderful to see how eagerly and openly our new team members have embraced these challenges. They have shown courage and a willingness to learn, which reflects their commitment to both their own development and the success of our team.
Safety remains a cornerstone of our training. In addition to occupational safety certification and first aid training, we will conduct advanced safety training covering the plant’s specific risks and safety protocols. It is crucial that each employee understands the importance of safety and can act correctly even in challenging situations.
Teamwork and communication will also play a central role in the later stages of the training. We want to ensure that all employees can work effectively together and that communication between different teams is seamless. This is particularly important in a plant where collaboration between departments is key to ensuring smooth operations.
As the training progresses, we have also received valuable feedback from our new employees, which has helped us fine-tune the training content to better meet their needs. We are committed to providing each employee with the support and information they need to succeed in their roles.
By early October, we expect our new team to be ready to take on responsibilities and fully participate in the daily operations of our plant. This training period not only prepares them for their tasks but also establishes a foundation for ongoing learning and development in the future. We are excited to soon welcome them fully into the Raahe thermal wood processing plant team and look forward to the achievements we will accomplish together.
Finally, we want to thank all our new team members for their hard work and commitment to this process. You are crucial to the success of our plant and we look forward to working together toward our shared goals. The training continues and we are confident that by early October, we will have a team ready to face all challenges and drive our plant’s operations forward.
